Mamuto Coffee Estate Parabolic Dryer Project
C. Dorman, in partnership with George Howell, has developed and installed five tailor-made solar dryers for Mamuto Coffee Estate to offer a convenient, efficient, and environmentally friendly way to dry coffee. These parabolic dryers will improve the preservation of bean quality, flavor, and fragrance.
Shade nets will ensure there is no direct midday sunlight, which could affect the quality of the coffee or cause over-drying. When it rains, the coffee parchment will be covered with a waterproof barrier.
We sourced construction materials from the local market and mounted them on the existing drying tables, reducing the cost of constructing new ones.
At ECOM Kenya, we are committed to supporting coffee farmers through sustainable initiatives.
